Tourism continues to rebound as Bali's airport reports that over 20,000 people arrived in just the first 11 days of the month; and in response to a salmonella scare, Indonesia's BPOM is ordering a recall of all of Ferrero's Kinder Joy products in the country. "Again, 'Flood' of Garbage Blocks Roads in Denpasar" from Bali Express (Indonesian): Again and again. Piles of garbage can be seen again in Denpasar City. This time at the Jalan Pulau Seram Depot, Dauh Puri Kelod Village, West Denpasar or to be precise west of Mall Level 21. If yesterday there was a buildup of garbage that spilled onto the road at the Monang-Maning TPS, Tegal Kertha Village, this time at the Seram Island Depot, Tuesday (12/4). Piles of garbage overflowed almost covering the road. Even vehicles have to take turns to use the two-way lane... Like the day before, the Denpasar City DLHK, which was confirmed again regarding this matter, did not answer at all. Instead, confirmation was obtained through the Head of the Protocol and Communications Section for the Denpasar City Leadership, I Dewa Gede Rai. Dewa Rai said that the delay in transporting the waste was caused by damage to heavy equipment at the Suwung TPA.

"11 Days, Tens of Thousands of International Passengers Served By Ngurah Rai Airport" from Bali Post: The number of international flights through Ngurah Rai Airport continues to grow. From the data compiled, there are a total of 31,662 people who have served international passengers at Ngurah Rai Airport from April to the 11th. Of that number, international arrivals were 20,164 people and international departures reached 11,498 people. The most arrivals were recorded on April 8, 2022 as many as 2,667 people. According to the Stakeholder Relations Manager of Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, since the reopening of international flight routes in early February 2022, there have been 10 airlines that have returned to Bali. The routes served are 8 cities.
"Kinder Joy-less: Cautious Indonesia pulls chocolate egg treat amid salmonella scare" from Coconuts: Indonesia’s Food and Drugs Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has issued an immediate recall and announced a public warning against Kinder Joy products from Italian confectionery company Ferrero, as their distribution is temporarily halted over a salmonella scare. “The public definitely should not buy and consume [Kinder Joy]. BPOM is currently conducting tests for the products that are distributed in Indonesia. Since this is a children’s snack, we prioritize caution,” BPOM Head Penny K Lukito said.

"Bali Police Chief Promises Strict Action on Investigators Allegedly Asking for Case Fees" from Radar Bali (Indonesian): Bali Police Chief Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra said that he would take firm action against three investigators from Unit 3 sub-directorate 1 of the Bali Police Ditreskrimum who allegedly violated the code of ethics. The three are suspected of asking for money from a community case named Jola Kathrine who is currently reporting the case to the Bali Police. "What is clear is that whatever we do professionally, if we find members like that, we will examine them. If they are proven, they will be dealt with in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.

"Sandiaga: Australian tourists top the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia" from Antara (Indonesian): "Since it was opened until April 3, 2022, 63% of foreigners (foreign nationals) have entered Indonesia, Australia is in first position by contributing 21% of tourists, and the positivity rate is very low due to high vaccination rates," he said. Furthermore, he explained the purpose of his working visit to Australia from 5-10 April 2022, namely to restore confidence in the Australian market following the gradual easing of foreign travel policies.

"There are 41,000 'mysterious' residents in Badung, additional seats are threatened" from Bali Express (Indonesian): Recently there has been a suggestion to increase the seats for members of the Badung DPRD from 40 to 45 seats. This is in line with the increase in population which also determines the political chess of Gumi Keris in the 2024 Legislative Election. "We have conveyed it to the Disdukcapil so that this is immediately aligned. Due to information from the Badung KPU, there are around 41,000 residents with Badung ID cards, but when they checked according to their addresses, they were no longer there. "Government extends PPKM in regions outside Java-Bali for two weeks" from Antara: The Indonesian government has decided to extend the implementation of public activity restrictions (PPKM) in regions outside Java-Bali for two weeks ahead, from April 12 to April 25, 2022. "The implementation of PPKM levels outside Java and Bali significantly improved, as (the number of regions with) level 3 declined, from 110 to 43 districts and cities, and level 1 increased, from 26 to 84 districts and cities," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto noted in an official statement here on Tuesday. Meanwhile, regions implementing level 2 PPKM grew, from 250 to 259 districts and cities... Based on evaluation of the assessment levels, the community transmission of confirmed cases continues to decline, and no province is at level 4, specifically, seven provinces with assessment level 3, some 17 provinces with assessment level 2, and three provinces with assessment level 1.

"Denpasar Will Become a Clean Energy Transition Pilot Project" from Bali Puspsa News (Indonesian): Ahead of the implementation of the G20 Presidency in Indonesia in 2022, PT. State Electricity Company (PLN) Persero held a number of programs. One of them is the clean energy transition program by converting LPG gas stoves to induction (electric) stoves. “As a first step, this program will be started in South Denpasar District as a pilot project. Later this induction cooker will be given to 950 household customers in the category of beneficiary families plus to 50 MSMEs who are used as pilots for the use of induction cookers," Manager of UP3 South Bali, Bobby Cristya Surya, said. Later, after being carried out in South Denpasar, said Bobby, it will continue in other areas in Denpasar City and other areas in Bali. The conversion program from LPG stoves to induction cookers was nationally chosen by two cities, namely Denpasar City in Bali and Surakarta City, Central Java.
