Hello Bali community! During the Eid holiday I’ve had some time to reflect on the future of The Bali Beat, and while I continue to feel that it is very bright indeed, its next evolution will require time for me to do a product redesign and develop new funding. For that reason, we need to suspend publication for four months, until Monday, September 5.
Up until now the newsletter has been chugging along on a lack of sleep and personal funds. While our growth to date has been nothing short of incredible, the bottom line is that I no longer have the bandwidth or money to keep it going on my own in the short term. However, I do have a plan - and the resources - to make some long-desired changes to the format and publication model that will allow me to come back with a solid foundation after a break.
In almost every post I’ve written about The Bali Beat, I’ve called it a passion project. I can assure all of you that my passion for this particular project is as strong as ever. This pause will allow me to regroup, redesign and relaunch with a capability, if it continues to be as well-received as it has been up until now, to sustain it far into the future- and to do even more than just share stories from the media. I’m determined to create more resources for the community of foreigners living in Bali, and I honestly can’t wait to share those plans with you.
See you on September 5th!
