"There Is No Clarity About the Face-to-face School Discourse in Tabanan" from Suara Bali (Indonesian): he discourse on opening a face-to-face school in Tabanan has yet to find clarity. The reason is, one of the districts on the island of Bali is still in the best status in the red zone for the spread of Covid-19. Apart from Tabanan, two other areas, namely Badung and Denpasar, are also still in the red zone status. On that basis, the local government is still implementing distance learning (PPJ). The head of the Tabanan Education Office, I Nyoman Putra, explained that his party had coordinated with two other areas namely Denpasar and Badung regarding face-to-face learning and so far the choice was still PJJ.
Context: This comes as Gianyar has reopened its schools for face-to-face learning tis week under strict health protocols. Other regions that are also not classified as red zones, such as Klungkung, are exploring ways to reopen their classrooms as soon as possible. Otherwise, the Education Minister’s stated goal of reopening schools after teacher vaccinations have been completed (which in Bali should happen by July) remains the target island-wide.
